Online wine supplier Naked Wines is offering romantic couples (or spurned lotharios) a unique opportunity to secure free wine for their wedding (or alternatively, a good case of sympathy plonk) by uploading video or camera-phone footage of their Valentine’s proposals at www.nakedwines.com – with the winner of best proposal video being decided by public vote.

Why not try to emulate Seal proposed to sweetheart Heidi Klum two days before Christmas when he surprised her with a custom-built igloo at the top of a 14,000-foot glacier in uncharted terrain in Whistler, British Columbia? Or Bill Ferguson – one of only 10 competition winners to win competition tickets to sit near to Barrack Obama during the inauguration – who successfully proposed to girlfriend Lea Smith immediately after Obama’s address??

Naked Wines will supply the winning couple with £1000 of wine for a wedding to take place in 2009/2010. Naked Wines will require verification of a confirmed wedding date and location event prior to despatching the bottles. If a failed proposal wins the most public votes, the sorry winner will be sent a case of wine.

www.nakedwines.com will accept submissions of footage from 12th February (the Thursday prior to Valentine’s Day) until 1st March 2009, with the winner selected according to the number of public votes polled for each video. Video footage submitted should ideally be no longer than 4 minutes in length, and can be uploaded following the instructions on the Valentine’s Proposal page on www.nakedwines.com (Alternatively, movie files not exceeding a maximum of 5 megabytes in size can be submitted via email at valentines@nakedwines.com )
