Romantic Rustic Weddings

Sophisticated church and hotel weddings are decreasing in popularity and slowly becoming a thing of the past. Rustic location options are becoming increasingly more popular among brides. You may think a rustic setting might lack the elegance you desire, or that an outdoor setting would just be dirty, but that is definitely not the case. Your special day will be just as beautiful and amazing as you make it to be, regardless of location. Rustic weddings exude charm and unique style with earth elements, warm colors, and a friendly atmosphere. There are numerous location options and unlimited themes and favors to consider when planning your perfectly romantic rustic wedding.

One of the most important items to figure out and finalize as soon as possible is location, especially if you are booking an actual venue. Popular rustic locations include barns and wineries. Both offer a charming elegance that cannot be found elsewhere. Other rustic options include farms and ranches. But you are not limited to actual venues. Maybe a large field, forest, or apple orchard has caught your eye. Before making any plans, make sure city regulations allow for public use. Also keep in mind any elderly guests you will have in attendance that may have a hard time accessing the location. Be sure to locate photos from each season of every venue you are considering. Each season offers a distinct and breathtaking backdrop for photos and your ceremony, and you want to ensure the location can provide all that you desire.

If you’re leaning toward a rustic wedding, it’s likely that you spend at least some time outside enjoying all that Mother Nature has to offer. Earthy tones are an obvious choice for colors and décor. But do not feel limited to browns, greens, and yellows. Feel free to add a pop of color anywhere you see fit. Brightly colored bridesmaid dresses and bouquets look stunning when placed within the earthy toned background. To further reflect the outdoor atmosphere, consider a theme. Harvest, western wedding, autumn, wine, or apples are all fun options to think about. Twinkle lights, raffia ties, and strategically-placed lanterns can add simple elegance and charm, whether you use a specific theme or not.

Wedding favours are a fun way for guests to remember your wedding. But you don’t want to give them some useless item that will just get thrown away sometime down the road. The best favors are those that are simple and practical; they do not have to be extravagant or expensive. Rustic weddings lend themselves to many favour options. Candles and soaps with a pleasant outdoorsy scent are very popular. And there is no shortage of edible favours to consider. Tiny honey pots, caramel apples, specialty chocolates, homemade jams, and tea gifts are just a few of the many favor options that continue along the rustic theme.
What really makes a wedding special and memorable to guests are those unique, and sometimes subtle, touches. If you have a favourite flower, add it to the bouquets or table centerpieces. Transform your ceremony space by creating a stylish altar with natural elements. Wear a pair of work boots or cowboy boots beneath your wedding dress. Consider dessert options other than the ever-popular wedding cake. Or find a unique cake topper that really represents you as a couple. If you have the time, make your own decorations or favours.

However you decide to go about it, make the wedding and reception your own. Make each element a representation of you and your spouse. You enjoy spending time outside, soaking in the sun, there’s no reason why your wedding should be any different.
