Somerset Based Cake Designer Ice Maiden Cakes Win Two International Awards

Award winning cake Somerset based company Ice Maiden Cakes are delighted to announce that they have won two prestigious international awards at Cake International 2011 which took place at Birmingham NEC in November.

Ice Maiden Cakes won a silver award in the Sculpted Cake category for a Chinese Dragon cake and a merit award in the Wedding Cake category for an Art Deco inspired wedding cake. Cake International 2011 took place between the 4th and 6th November 2011 at the Birmingham NEC. It is one of the world’s largest cake and sugar craft events, exhibiting the work of international competitors many of whom travel across the globe in order to showcase their cake artistry.

Julie Gibson, owner of Ice Maiden Cakes, said: ‘This is the first time that I have entered a cake in to a competition so I am thrilled to achieve not one but two awards and with designs which strongly reflect our unique style. At Ice Maiden Cakes we just love the colourful and the quirky but we also believe in giving the customer what they want so if the customer wants white with roses then that's what the customer gets.’
